I'm listening to a fabulous new book called Spinning Silver that starts deep in the Russian (or Russia-approximate) countryside, with long winters and magical frost, and this new tea at work is the perfect pairing for it. A deep, dark herbal blend called Forest. Hell yes.
While this was delicious and gorgeous, Brussels sprouts still make me feel like Hot Garbage. If you are one of those folks who can digest these, though, try out First Mess's "Brussels sprouts with lime and miso." You won't be disappointed.
I don't wear fingerless gloves all the time anymore because I'm a) not in a Greenday phase at this point in my life, and b) more in control of my exercise/circulation. But my hands are still always cold in the morning/evening, so my parents bought me these kickass, swirly, forest-preserve looking felted hand warmers for Christmas. Perfect for a snow day and writing.
The calm after the snow storm, with a stripe of clearing skies out over the mountains.
